A Good Laugh.

I was at work doing some testing for our new system with several other people.  All of a sudden I get an email pop up from my work bestie, who's sitting behind me.  What the...?  So, of course, I had to open it.  This is what I found:

Now you can see why she's my bestie.  If you don't understand this, you're either too young or you grew up in a cave.

This song used to be very popular.  After posting it on my Facebook, an old friend of mine asked me if I'd seen the music video for this song recently.  She said it's pretty much about stalking.  Take a look and see what you think, lol!:

Comic Relief at Work.

I received this email at work today and am still laughing at it!  Being part History major, it just makes me giggle endlessly!  Not to mention I am an avid Facebook user so it makes it even more comical!

To all you Face Book fans...

My New Name?

Today at work, I got this sent to me and was utterly confused:

It wasn't until my coworker next to me saw it that I realized the person who sent it to me was trying to spell the name, Heidi.  You know, Hollie.  Heidi.  It's all the same.

So now my new name at work is Hedi DietPepsiCola.  Nice to meet you.

Oprah vs. Streisand.

My sister, Traci, told me how one day she came across Kathy Griffin on tv.  Neither of us are huge fans but she watched this bit on how Barbra Streisand was interviewed by Oprah and the whole story is just too funny not to share!

Oh Those Los Angeles Nights...

Last night I wasn't really in the mood to go to see Eddie Izzard , even though I'd spent $70 on my ticket. It was one of those days where you wake up and know you're going to be grumpy. I suppose the lack of sleep doesn't help. I decided, as much as I wanted to cancel, I should go. After all, it's been a while since I've been to L.A. for a night on the town. Not to mention, I spent $70 on this...

I met up with my friends Stephanie and Jaime and I drove us to L.A. after being up since 4:30am that morning. We caught up on our lives since it'd been a little bit since we'd seen each other, as well as our gossip. After an hour and a half in rush hour traffic, we finally parked and decided to eat. I suggested Lawry's because they have delicious Prime Rib Sandwiches as well as their "crack" and cheese side dish and homemade lemonade. After I bought my lemonade, I picked a table outside for us to eat at. As I sat down, I noticed a man sit down at the table next to me. That's when I realized it was Mitch Pileggi, who played Agent Skinner on The X-Files, which was a show I watched religiously until Agent Dogget came on the show. And so, we had dinner with Skinner from the X-Files.

Jaime and I playing it cool, taking normal friend pictures. ;)

Steph enjoying that star-struck feeling.

"Skinner" enjoying his sandwich at Lawry's.

Next we walked to the Nokia Theater, where the Grammy's are being held this Sunday, and found our seats. No wonder these seats were $70. They were pretty nice! First row in the Loge section with only our 3 seats in the front row. Brilliant!

I don't know if you know who Eddie Izzard is, but he is a British Transvestite Comedian. He is freaking hilarious. Unfortunately, he did not come out in stage with a dress or heels, but we were still quite entertained! During the intermission, we discovered that Hugh Laurie, House, was in the audience as well. That's when I thought to myself, "Self, I wonder how a conversation with these two Englishman would be. It would obviously be quite entertaining!"

Eddie Izzard put on a hilarious show and I am positive I laughed off many, many calories because by the end of the night, I was hoarse from laughing until I coughed! Great, great fun and I am glad I decided to go. :D

Full Belly Laughs...

(This sign is located just outside the casino in a corner where people can't see the warning that they can get addicted to gambling...)

Sometimes, you just need a night out to see some comedy.

This is what I did this past saturday night.  I got a text message from my good friend Amanda last week, asking if I would like her ticket to go see Jeff Dunham at Pala.  Now for those of you who don't know, Jeff Dunham is a ventriloquist comedian.  His most famous puppet is Achmed, The Dead Terrorist who's famous quote is, "Silence!  I kill you!"  I was totally in for a night of comedy!  Plus, it was at the Pala, which is a casino on an Indian Reservation in San Diego.

I met up with my friends Steph and Jaime and it was mandatory to get what they called "roadtrip food."  Now we met up at Steph's house, which is in Aliso Viejo... not so far from San Diego County...  Well, they made sure I knew that anything more than a half hour away was by definition a roadtrip in their eyes.  Hey, I was not going to argue about picking up snacks!  Plus, I was dying for a Diet Coke!  So we got our goodies (me with my Combos which I was totally stoked to find!) and we were on our way.

We got to Pala and I was pretty disappointed that they allowed smoking in the building.  Ugh, I hate the smell of smoke, but worst of all, I hate my clothes and hair smelling like it after being in close proximity with it.  Anyway, we picked up our tickets for the show and headed for the buffet.  I admit, I am totally into buffets!  When my family would drive to Utah every Spring Break for snowboarding/skiing, we would always stop in Vegas for a buffet.  I am a buffet pro.  I'm not going to lie.  Delicious!  I recommend their buffet!  Plus, you can get a discount if you pick up a special (and free) card to keep track of points for gambling.  Now if you know me, I'm all about deals, so I was sure to get one!

(Yes, those are fruits and veggies on my plate...  I know, right??)

We then played some slots for a bit.  I was a little hesitant at first because I hadn't done slot machines in years!  They were so different from what I remember!  Plus..  I am a cheapskate.  It's true.  I like to save my money and spend it on something like travel, but, meh, why not?  I had $20 I would play with and not a penny more!  It was hilarious though because Steph had to teach me how to play, lol!  It was pretty fun though.

After we gambled for a bit we went to get our seats for the show.  I am proud to say that I was pretty much prepared for the weather!  It was freezing!  I was very happy that I brought 2 jackets as well as a pair of gloves.  Yes, I know what you're thinking but I can't help but be cold so shush.  At least I was prepared and not complaining the whole time!

(Jaime, me, and Steph getting ready for the laughs)

The show was great!  The opening act was a guy they call Guitar Guy, who just happens to be the guitarist from the band Avenge Sevenfold's dad!  Who knew?  But we were more excited for Jeff Dunham.  I laughed so hard I started coughing!  It was great.  Just what I needed :)

If you have never seen/heard Achmed, here is a clip for you.  He also has several other puppets:
